Converted Barracks
Show Home Styling
An old army barracks in Colchester Essex was converted into some desirable apartments and I was asked to style one of them for the show home for potential buyers.
The brief was to undertake the interior styling and create a homely apartment that appealed to the professional market and was sophisticated and elegant, mixing traditional and modern décor.
With carefully selected furniture and lighting the interior design of this space was carefully curated to show how the space can be best used but also to make the flat feel like a home, inviting and cosy.

I paid great attention to the detail and was sympathetic to the age of the building when highlighting key features such as the large sash windows in the living area with dramatic sheer curtains. Plus I made the most of the really high ceiling in the open plan space with a statement modern chandelier, which was a real showstopper. The colour palette was kept fairly neutral with splashes of colour to make the rooms warm and inviting and highlighted with brass for that elegant touch.
I’m so pleased with how this came together and the client was extremely happy with the results, go take a look at the review here.
